Heading out hwy 58 the wildflowers are everywhere, shooting stars, delphiniums, yarrow, fireweed. That last little rain we had must have made them pop.
Stopped for lunch at Caesar's Italian Deli in Bakersfield. After turkey sandwiches and very cheery service we're back on the road headed for Vegas.
Ugh, except for the little bit of snow dotting the mountains around Tehachapi, it's been windy and boring since Bakersfield. I was hoping for more wildflowers.
Surprisingly our hotel in Las Vegas doesn't offer free Wifi so this will have to wait. I think we'll stick to the Vdara from now on. For not much more you get a smoke-free bar, no casino, coffee in the room if you ask and free wifi. You also get very friendly, prompt service.
Good dinner across the street at the Redwood Bar and Grill, great service and wine and I'm ready for bed.
